This activity is used to add components to a product structure alternate. I.e., components required to manufacture, remanufacture, repair, disassemble, disposition, assemble or purchase the parent part.
To add a component, create a new line on the Components tab, enter the Part to add and the quantity required to manufacture, remanufacture, repair, disassemble, disposition, assemble or purchase one unit of the parent part in Qty per Assembly field. Optionally, connect the component to the operation where it is required. If applicable, add or edit attributes for scrap, reservation/issue etc.
A product structure alternate must exist. If Structure/Routing Update on the Site/Manufacturing page is set to Restricted or Enhanced, the status of the alternate must not be Buildable.
As a result of this activity, components are added to the product structure alternate.
