Calculate Lead Time for Routing
Explanation
This activity is used to calculate the lead time of a routing alternate.
The calculation is initiated from the Calculate Lead Time
dialog. To access the dialog, click Calculate Lead Time
either from the Alternate section on the
Routing page, from the Routing Alternate
page or from the Routing Alternates page. In the
dialog, specify the settings to use. If you want to compare the calculated
values for the Calculation Lot Size, that is equal to the
Std Lot Size of the part, with the values calculated for
another simulation lot size you can enter that simulation lot size in the
Simulation Lot Size field.
Then click OK to run the calculation. For additional information see Routing Lead Time Calculation.
Prerequisites
A part with a defined routing alternate must exist.
System Effects
- The system calculates and updates the routing alternate lead times based
on the Calculation Lot Size. If a Simulation Lot
Size was entered, the system also calculates the routing alternate lead times
based on the Calculation Lot Size but does not save these
values.
- If the calculation was performed with Update Lead Time set to
Update or Update also expected for a part
with Part Type set to Manufactured or
Manufactured Recipe on a routing with Routing
Type set to Manufacturing and Alternate
set to *, the Lead Time on Inventory Part/Main and the fixed and variable lead times
by day and by hour on Inventory Part/Manufacturing are updated based on the calculated values. If the
calculation was performed with Update Lead Time set to Update also expected
also the Expected Lead Time on Inventory Part/Main/Lead
Times and Supply Dates is updated based on the calculated
values.
- If the calculation was performed with Update Lead Time set to
Update or Update also expected for a part
with Part Type set to Remanufactured on
a routing with Routing Type set to
Remanufacturing and Alternate set to *,
the Lead Time on Inventory Part/Main and the fixed and variable lead times
by day and by hour on Inventory Part/Manufacturing are updated based on the calculated values. If the
calculation was performed with Update Lead Time set to Update also expected
also the Expected Lead Time on Inventory Part/Main/Lead
Times and Supply Dates is updated based on the calculated
values.
