Use this activity to create a snapshot for routing operation details and calculate the actual result for the operation Usage Factor, which is used in Routing.
On the Routing page, the operation Usage Factor is the value set as the estimated occurrence of the operation for a specific operation. Functions like CRP use this value for planning the operations, making it crucial to keep this value up to date.
The calculate routing operation actuals activity calculates the actual operation usage factor value based on closed shop orders within the defined time range for the calculation. The actual operation usage factor value provides user a clear view of how much the operation has been included and reported in production during the specified time. Users can also monitor deviations from the estimated usage factor. The information can be used to update the estimated operation usage factor, which will be a better input for capacity requirement planning functions, for instance.
When the calculation is performed in the Calculate Routing Operation Actuals dialog, it generates a new snapshot ID on the Routing Operation Actuals page. The logic gets data from closed shop orders of configurable parts (and their revisions) within the date range used in the calculation.
Note: Configuration Rule and Alternate Rule columns display the rule at the time when the Snapshot ID is created. This means that if the configuration or alternate rule has been changed during the revision/alternate life cycle, the displayed rule might not have been used for the operations for all the closed shop orders within the timeframe.
The rules are displayed in the user language that created the Actuals Snapshot ID.
As a result of this activity, a new record is created on the Routing Operation Actuals page, and the actual result for the operation Usage Factor is calculated.
