Calculate Structure Component Actuals

Explanation

Use this activity to create a snapshot for structure component details and calculate the actual result for the component Usage Factor, which is used in Configuration Structure.

On the Configuration Structure page, the component Usage Factor is the value set as the estimated occurrence of the component for a specific configurable part. Functions like MRP use this value for planning the components, making it crucial to keep this value up to date.

Calculate structure component actuals activity calculates the actual component usage factor value based on closed shop orders within the defined time range for the calculation. The actual component usage factor value provides the user a clear view of how much the component has been included and issued in production during the specified time. User can also monitor deviations from the estimated usage factor. The information can be used to update the estimated component usage factor, which will be a better input for material planning functions, for instance.

When the calculation is performed, it generates a new snapshot ID on the Structure Component Actuals page. The logic gets data from closed shop orders of configurable parts (and their revisions) within the date range used in the calculation.

Note: Configuration Rule and Alternate Rule columns display the rule at the time when the Snapshot ID is created. This means that if the configuration or alternate rule has been changed during the revision/alternate life cycle, the displayed rule might not have been used for the component for all the closed shop orders within the timeframe.

The rules are displayed in the user language that created the Actuals Snapshot ID.
