This activity is used to enter GIS settings in GIS Settings page.
Setting IFS_ID_FIELD_NAME for entering the layer's attribute name for the IFS ID enables connections between GIS object in ArcGIS and business objects in IFS to be made. The setting is case sensitive and the IFS ID field on the layer will not be found if upper case and lower case doesn't match, between the setting and the field name on the layer. You can enter a new name of the field or accept the default IFSID. Also, the same field with the exact same name should be added on layer in ArcGIS system. Now, a connection between a GIS object and a business object can be made in GIS Map page.
Setting GEOMETRY_SERVICE is for entering a URL to a geometry service. The geometry service is used by the measurement widget. Entering this parameter is only required in a few situations, as described in GIS Concepts.
Setting PROXY_CONFIGURATION is a critical part of the GIS integration. Without a properly configured proxy, GIS Map page will not load map services. Detailed information about the proxy, is described in GIS Concepts. A default proxy configuration is added when GIS Integration is installed and it contains some useful examples. A successfully configured proxy enables the following:
When map service URLs are added as described in GIS Concepts and saved, a proxy configuration file is created on IFS Cloud server (MWS). The proxy configuration file is not created until it has been saved, at least once. The proxy configuration file is then continuously updated each time the proxy configuration is modified. For a newly installed application server, it's important to save the proxy configuration once, because it will trigger the proxy configuration file to be created.
Note: It's possible to allow automatic access to secured map services, without showing ArcGIS logon dialog, by entering the ArcGIS user credentials in the proxy. This requires the setting Use Proxy to be enabled on the layer in GIS Layer Mapping page. In all other situations the setting Use Proxy can be disabled.
Setting CREDENTIALS_EXPIRATION_TIME is for defining the timeout for manually entered credentials during a map session. The expiration time is in minutes. This setting have effect when manually entering credentials in ArcGIS logon dialog in GIS Map page.
Setting SHOW_LOG is for showing a log after GIS Map page is loaded. This setting is used for debugging. If the value of this setting is TRUE, a dialog showing log information will be shown when the GIS Map page is opened. If the value of this setting is FALSE, it will not longer show the dialog.
More information about these settings can be found in GIS Concepts.
