Cancel Task Cards on Maintenance Event
Explanation
This activity is used to cancel a task card connected to an event on the
maintenance order.
If a task card is to be canceled, and the event it belongs to is in the
Under Preparation status or an earlier status, all connected subtasks
will be canceled automatically. If the event is in the Released status
or a later status, the connected subtasks will not be canceled when canceling
the task card. In this case, the subtasks must be canceled one by one.
To cancel a task card connected to an event on the maintenance order, select
the Cancel option from the Task Cards tab in
Manage Maintenance Event page. In the Cancel Task
Card dialog you can enter a cancellation cause and register information
on the cancellation in Cancellation Comment field. The information entered
in this field will be included in the CRS Documentation: Work Canceled report.
Note: If you are working with execution logic structures,
this activity can be performed from the Task Cards tab in
Manage Execution Logic Structure page. If you need
to cancel task cards on a manual maintenance event that is either in the
Incomplete or Under Preparation status, you can either use the above
steps or perform this activity from the Task Cards
tab in Manual Maintenance Event page.
Prerequisites
- Cancellation causes must exist.
- You must have access to the cancellation cause that is to be used when
canceling a task card.
- Task cards must exist on an event connected to a maintenance order that
is in one of the following statuses: Under Preparation, Released
or Started.
- If you need to cancel a Duplicate task card or subtask,
it should be in one of these statuses: Under Preparation,
Released, Work Started, Work Done
or Reported.
- If a work task has been created for the task card, the work task cannot
have any time reported or material reserved/issued.
System Effects
- The task card is set to the Canceled status, but will still remain
on the maintenance order till it becomes historical.
- The given cancellation cause is retained on the task card.
- Resource demands on the task card and subtask and resource activities
generated for the demands will be removed.
- Material demands on the task card and subtask will be removed.
- Sign off requirements on the task card and subtask will be removed.
- If task cards are canceled for a fault event on a maintenance order,
the task cards will be removed automatically from the task card list of
the fault (in the Manage Fault Information/Task Cards tab).
- When a Duplicate task card or subtask is canceled,
the duplicate definition will be removed from it and from the corresponding
work task.
- If a work task has been created for the task card, the work task is
set to the Canceled status, and the cancellation cause is entered
on the task line.
