Create Resource Forecast Versions

Explanation

This activity is used to create a new resource forecast version for a project.

A new resource forecast version can be created from scratch or by copying from an existing forecast or from a project resource plan.

You can also modify information on a resource forecast version, copy from existing resource forecasts, spread resource forecast hours and change the status. You are able to create, connect or disconnect snapshots from a required resource forecast version and drill down to detailed information for snapshots as well.

Once the lines have been created you can then spread or reset the hours.

 The following activities are generally performed using the command buttons on the operations menu:

• Spread forecasted amounts and view the spread.
• Set Estimate to Complete (ETC) hours based on previous ETC hours or Estimate at Completion (EAC) hours.
• If the cost of the resource or postings are changed later it is possible to use the Update Cost command and update the change.

 

Prerequisites

• A project should exist.
• A forecast type should exist.
