Reserve Inventory to Project

Explanation

Use this function to reserve quantity of a part from inventory. Reservation can be done either manually or automatically.

When the Supply option is MRP and reservation is done manually, the Manual Reservation dialog will display only the standard inventory records that are available for reservation. However, when the Supply option is not MRP , the dialog will display only the project inventory records that are available for reservation. Project inventory belonging to other projects will not be displayed.

Prerequisites

• The required quantity must be greater than already reserved quantity. 
• Activity must be in status Released.

System Effects

• The quantity is reserved, or unreserved.
• The Reserved Quantity column is updated on the miscellaneous demand line.
• A manually reserved material is pegged to identify that it has been manually reserved.
• When creating project supply request for a project specific part, the Required Quantity is decreased by the Reserved Quantity.
