All receipt lines must be entered as arrived and, when using dispatch advice, this is done in the Register Partial Shipment Arrivals page. This includes both the orders concerning inventory parts and non-inventory registered purchase parts.
You perform the arrival registration in various dialogs, depending on whether the entire shipment is accepted and entered as is, the parts are serial handled and if the serial numbers are defined at the arrival registration or at a later time. If you are handling serial-handled parts and have decided to wait with the serial numbering, you can enter the arrival by using the dialog for parts without serial numbers. Note that if you postpone the serial numbering until after the parts have been entered as arrived, you cannot use the supplier's serial numbers. If you want to use them, you must do the serial numbering at the arrival registration. You can enter the customs declaration information either for the full dispatch advice or per respective line.
You can change some of the indicated data in the corresponding dialog. In the Receive dialog, you can change the quantity arrived, change or add the quantity to inspect, change or add the quality controller, change receive case, and change the destination location. Moreover, you can add or change the lot/batch number, change the revision number, enter a W/D/R number as well as add or change the customs information and country of origin. These possibilities are also available in the Receive with Serials/Lots dialog, i.e., the dialog for serial handled parts. Notice that non-inventory registered purchase parts and no-number parts do not use any location.
If you want to change the receive case from one without inspection to one with inspection, you must specify a quantity to inspect.
The system effects depend on which changes you have performed. The arrived quantity might have been decreased or increased. The quantity to inspect and the quality controller might have been changed or added. The receive case and the destination location might have been changed. The receipt line might have a W/D/R number, lot/batch number, or a changed revision number assigned.
