Perform this activity to edit or delete existing shifts or breaks. It is not possible to edit a shift or break in such a way that the start or end times overlap. The account date on the shift is not possible to edit.
Editing a shift or break updates the corresponding resource capacity and creates shift deviations. Shift deviations ensure that the deviations from the resource's schedule persist even when regenerated. If the shift deviation record is removed, the original shift is restored as it was generated.
Note: If a Shift Freeze Period has been defined in
Resource Basic Data, then changes are not allowed
to be made to shifts from My Resource Shift Gantt
and My Resource Shift Calendar
pages during this period.
Resource Shifts must have been generated.
Resource capacity is updated. Shift deviations are created for the edited shift ensuring that the deviation persists even if the resource schedule is re-generated.
If a Shift Freeze Period has been defined in Resource Basic Data, a change log is created if the shifts and/or break is added within the shift freeze period. A shift change log is always created (even outside of the freeze period) if the added shift belongs to the logged-in user's resource.
