Set Current Stress Rating

Explanation

This activity is used to set the current stress rating for a serial structure. The current stress rating is displayed in several pages and is identified by the stress rating ID and the template part number and revision for which the stress rating is defined. The current stress rating can be changed by using the Set Current Stress Rating option in the Manage Serial Structure page. You will need to enter the new current stress rating for the top serial and/or any branches in the serial structure that have their own stress ratings defined. The current stress rating can only be changed from the top item of a serial structure.

To set the current stress rating for a serial structure, open the Manage Serial Structure Information page and click Serial. Then click the option Set Current Stress Rating to open the Set Current Stress Rating dialog.

• Enter the new current stress rating for the top serial in the Stress Rating ID field. Note: If a stress rating has not been defined for the top serial, leave this field blank.
• In the table below, enter the new current stress rating for the serials in the structure that have separate stress ratings defined. Note: If stress ratings have not been defined for the serials in the structure, leave the Stress Rating ID field in the table blank.

Prerequisites

• The serial structure, where one or more template parts have valid stress ratings defined, must exist.

System Effects

• The current stress rating will be stored on each LLP (life limited part) serial in the structure. This is critical for getting the correct drop dead dates.
• The current stress rating will be used when logging operational values on the serial, which will have impact on the remaining life of the serial.
• The due calculation for life limited parts will run automatically for the serial to calculate due dates and values.
