Set Serial in Quarantine
Explanation
This activity is used to set a serial in quarantine, which sets the serial
out of operation. Note that, quarantine is not as strict as setting a serial
to locked. Click Serial from the Manage Serial
Structure page and select the Quarantine option
to quarantine a serial.
Prerequisites
- A serial must have an operational status of In Operation or
Out Of Operation.
System Effects
- The Quarantined field is enabled for the serial.
- When a serial is quarantined, the operational status is automatically
set to Out Of Operation.
- The structure of the serial remains unchanged.
- A history record is generated for the quarantined serial in the
Part Serial History
page.
- A serial in quarantine cannot have its operational status changed to
In Operation.
- A serial in quarantine cannot have its operational condition changed
to Operational.
- The maintenance group for a serial in quarantine cannot be changed.
