This activity is used to define whether a serial, which is not connected to a template, is life limited or not. To set the life limit of a serial you need to use the same rules as used when setting the life limit in a template structure.
If a serial is life limited, has no template information, and is a used serial (but a new serial within the system), the Life Limited field in the Serial Initialization page Structure section must be updated before the operational log history can be updated in the Serial Initialization page. The option Set Life Limited in Serial drop down will open the assistant.
As a result of this activity, the life limit of the serial is updated.
