Handle Unused Parts
Explanation
Use this activity to handle parts that have been reserved for a Work Task, but have
not been consumed for the job. From the Reserved Materials screen, using the
Handle Unused Parts command, it is possible to unreserve
the parts and move them to a desired location.
Parts reserved to a Service Location (received in Direct Purchase Order or
Direct Shipment Order process) can moved using options:
- Move with Transport Task, where the part(s) will be unreserved
and a Transport Task will be created, to move them to a central (non-remote)
warehouse. It is possible to execute the transport task in the same
action.
- Unreserve and move to user stock: Parts will be unreserved and moved
to user connected remote location
Parts reserved in any other location can be handled using options:
- Unreserve, where the part(s) will be unreserved and remain in
their current location.
- Move with Transport Task, where parts will be unreserved
and a Transport Task will be created to move them to a central
(non-remote) location. It is possible to execute the transport task in
the same action.
Prerequisites
- Parts must be reserved for the Work Task
- The Work Task Workflow Configuration
applied must have action Unreserve Materials enabled,
or no workflow at all.
System Effects
- Parts will be unreserved and stored either in the users connected remote
location, or in central (non-remote) location.
