Maintain General Defense Item Data
Explanation
Use this activity to maintain general item attribute data required when creating the iRAPT messages and/or the
DD250 Report for a shipment related to a Defense Contract Order including the item.
Depending on the Item Type, CLIN, SLIN etc. the general Item data can be set and/or maintained in the general
tab located in the Defense Contract Order Delivery- or Defense Contract Order Sub-Delivery page.
The following item attribute data can be maintained:
- ACRN - Accounting Classification Reference Number
- MILSTRIP Number - Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures Number
- Purchase Request No
- SDN - Standard Document Number
- FMS Case ID - Foreign Military Sales Case ID
- UID Exempt Indicator - UID refers to the Government Program of Uniquely Identifying items. If selected, the
item doesn’t need any Item Unique Identifier, or IUID for short. The IUID is the actual number that
identifies an item.
- Product Service Type
- A Defense Product Service Type can be used to define what to use as identification for the items included
in a Defense Contract Order when creating the DD250 Report or the iRAPT messages
- Inspection Point
- Determines when to Inspect the Item, S (Source), D (Destination) or
O (Other)
- Shipment Advice Type
- First Line Haul
- A Line Haul can be used to define how to transport an item included in a Defense Contract Order
- Acceptance Point
- Determines when the ownership is transferred from the defense supplier to the customer, S (Source), D
(Destination) or O
- Certificate of Conformance
- A certificate of conformity, or CoC, is issued by an authorized party (sometimes the manufacturer,
sometimes an independent laboratory) and states that the product meets the required standards or
specification. The CoC can either
be requested by a buyer to ensure the product being manufactured has been tested and passes the set criteria
within a specification and meets both technical and safety requirements, or it would be a mandatory
requirement as stated by country regulations and law for certain products, such as Bluetooth devices being
sold in the USA.
- Alternate Release Procedure
- Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) recognizes contractors who have demonstrated the capability to
maintain satisfactory Quality Management System. If selected it allows the contractor to release shipments
before
obtaining a QAR's (Quality Assurance Representative) signature in Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), or Block 21A
of the DD250, Material Inspection and Receiving Report.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that a Defense Contract Order exists in status Solicitation or Active with at least one
Item defined.

As a result of this activity:
