Start Work Task
Explanation
You start a work task to indicate that work on the task or fault is about to commence. You can start a task on
the Task Details page, My Work page, Aircraft Turn
Details page, and the Work Tasks tab, if the task has been assigned to
you.
If you accidentally start working on a task, you can undo it by clicking Unstart.
You can only unstart tasks that you started, and tasks for which parts, tools, measurements, or actions have not
been signed.
Prerequisites
- The status of the task is Active.
- The status of the fault is Open or Deferred.
System Effects
- The status of the task changes to In Work.
- The Actual Start of the task on the Task Details page is updated
with the date and time on which the task was started.
- If the work package or none of the tasks in the work package have been started, starting work on any task in
the work package starts the work package as well.
- If the task you unstarted is the only task in the work package in the In Work status and
there are no other tasks in Completed or In Work status, the task, work
package, and aircraft turn status changes as follows when you unstart the task.
- Task status: In work to Active
- Work package status: In Work to the previous status: Active or
Committed
- Aircraft turn status: In Maintenance to the previous status: Inbound or
Arrived
- If the task you unstarted is not the only task in the work package in the In Work
status and there are other tasks in Completed or In Work status in the work
package, the task status changes from In Work to Active.
