This activity is to define the mandatory attributes for a Model. The mandatory attributes are Model ID and Description. The Serialized flag is mandatory and should be enabled if the objects created for the model are serial tracked. The Serialized flag will be disabled by default.
The user has the ability to define additional optional information such as Object Family, Object Subfamily, Brand, Object type and Introduced Date. The Object Family and Object Subfamily of the model cannot be changed when there are objects connected to the model.

As a result of this activity, a model will be created/updated and can be used to create a Service Object, on a Request Contract or a Request. The serialization of a model will be validated against the Object Classification, when the model is connected to an object. The serialization of the model will also be validated against the serialization of the part when the model is connected to a part in the 'Model for Part' page.
