Scale Shop Order Lot Size by Component
Explanation
This activity is used to scale the lot size of a shop order according to a
specified required quantity of a single component. It is typically performed for
a component whose used quantity governs both the lot size of the shop order and
the required quantities of the other material lines.
The activity is done using the Scale Shop Order Lot Size
dialog. To access the dialog from:
- Shop Order page: Select the material
line for which the shop order lot size should be scaled on the
Materials tab and click
Scale Lot Size by Component.
- Shop Order Materials page: Select the material
line for which the shop order lot size should be scaled and click
Scale Lot Size by Component.
- Manual Reservations for Shop Order Material Line
page or Manual Issue Shop Order Material Line
page: Click
Scale Lot Size by Component.
- Shop Floor Workbench page: Select the
material line for which the shop order lot size should be scaled on the
Materials tab in the Dispatch List
section and click
Scale Lot Size by Component.
In the Scale Shop Order Lot Size dialog, enter
the quantity of the component that will be used in the New Required Qty field and click OK.
Prerequisites
- A shop order of order type Manufacturing must
exist.
- The shop order must have at least one material line with supply code
Invent Order that is not in status Cancelled
or Closed.
- The material line cannot be linked to an operation with Manual
Operation Qty enabled.
- If the shop order has Adjust for Op Deviation Qty
enabled, the material line cannot be linked to an operation that is
succeeding operation(s) with reported quantity.
System Effects
- The lot size of the shop order is recalculated following the
specified required quantity of the component.
- The required quantities of all material lines on the shop order are
recalculated following the new shop order lot size. Note that the quantity per assembly
of the material lines will remain unchanged.
