Use this activity to create a snapshot for structure component details and calculate the actual result for the component Usage Factor, which is used in a configuration structure.
On the Configuration Structure page, the component Usage Factor is the value set as the estimated occurrence of the component for a specific configurable part. Functions like MRP use this value for planning the components, making it crucial to keep this value up to date.
Calculate structure component actuals activity calculates the actual component usage factor value, based on closed shop orders within the defined time range for the calculation. The actual component usage factor value provides the user with a clear view of how much the component has been included and issued in production during the specified time. Users can also monitor deviations from the estimated usage factor. The information can be used to update the estimated component usage factor, which will be a better input for material planning functions, for instance.
Note:
As a result of this activity, a new record with a new snapshot ID is created on the Structure Component Actuals Snapshot and Structure Component Actuals Snapshots page, and the actual result for the component Usage Factor is calculated for configurable parts.
