Project milestones represent the planned completion of significant events that indicate key achievements for the project. These milestones serve as critical checkpoints along the project timeline, helping guide the project to successful completion. Examples of project milestones could be the first payment when a specification is finished, the next payment when the prototype is finished, and the final payment when the product is delivered.
Specify the project milestones, including planned milestone dates and revenue, if the milestone is associated with revenue. Project milestones can be defined in the Project Definition/Milestone tab. These are for information only and affect nothing else in the system.
Note: While the project milestones are defined for the whole project, there are also activity milestones. These can be added to the project’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to mark important events and can have significant implications for the project schedule. Refer to "About Activities" and the activity: "Insert Activities" for more information.
