Insert Sub Projects
Explanation
Once the project has been created, you can start to create the project
structure, often referred to as the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS),
by inserting sub projects using the pages Sub Projects
or Project Scope and Schedule/Sub Projects.
These sub projects, are significant sections of the Work Breakdown Structure
(WBS) to which activities are then connected.
- Sub projects must have a unique identification (ID) within the
project.
- Sub projects can be created and connected directly under the project or connected to
already existing sub projects.
- Each sub project can only have one parent, but can be a parent to many sub
projects. This capability allows for the creation of deep and complex structures
when needed.
Prerequisites
- A project or a parent sub project must have been created. (See
Create Project
for how to create a new project.)
System Effects
- Sub projects are part of establishing the project plan and new sub
projects can act as parents to other sub projects.
- Activities, and activity milestones can be created against the new sub projects.
