Allocate Directly on Work Task

Explanation

Use this activity when you quickly want to allocate a resource to one or multiple work tasks and no resource demands have been specified.

In addition to the general prerequisites, listed in Maintenance Resource Setup & Service Resource Setup, Duration should be entered on the work task.

As a result of this activity, work assignments will be created for the resources and the work task will be considered allocated. Each work assignment will get an Allocated Start and Allocated Finish. The work assignment will be assigned to a resource and its status will be set to Assigned.
If Adjust to Schedule option is selected, then the Allocated Start and Allocated Finish are adjusted based on the working schedule of the resource.
The Allocated Start and Allocated Finish dates will be set from the Planned Start and Planned Finish. If Duration is entered on the Work Task it will be used as default value for Allocated Hours. When using Allocate Resource to Multiple Tasks and if no dates are set, the system date is used for Allocated Start.
