Register Manual Maintenance Event

Explanation

This activity is used to register a manual maintenance event for a serial. To register a manual event, open the Manual Maintenance Event page and create a record there. Once saved, you can observe an event number is set for the manual event, and this event will be included in the pool of pending maintenance events. Once the manual event is created, you can enter information on the work to be done (task cards and subtasks), resources needed to perform the work (person groups and tool/equipment groups), material that will be utilized, and sign off requirements for the task cards and subtasks.

In the Task Cards tab, task cards can be retrieved from the task library by selecting the source as Task Card and selecting a task card from the List of values or be defined manually by selecting Manual as the source. When the source is set as Task Card, the selected task card that has criticality information with the Include in Planning/Execution toggle switch enabled in the Criticality tab in the Task Card page, would be automatically fetched and set as the default value in the Task Card Criticality Level and Task Card Criticality Code fields. However it can be changed using the List of Values if needed. It is important to note that the subtasks connected to the selected task card will inherit its criticality information from the parent task card. Thereby, any modifications done for the parent task card's criticality would be applicable for the subtasks as well.

If the Source is set as Manual, you can select a criticality code and criticality level using the List of Values, which displays all criticality codes and levels defined in basic data.

Once you have finished planning the manual event, it can be connected to a maintenance order. You can use the drop-down in the Order Number field to select the maintenance order to which the manual event is to be assigned.

Note:
Manual events can also be assigned directly on a maintenance order using the option Assign Events, from the Manage Maintenance Order page or it can be assigned when creating a maintenance order using the New Maintenance Order assistant.

The manual event is processed in the same way as other maintenance event types. E.g., a work task is generated and any reported time and issued material is transferred back to the event when the task is finished.
