This activity is used to define a variety of job related information, such as assignment to a relevant job group, family and grade, defining qualifications required to be considered for the job, defining responsibilities and duties of a job holder, and many others.
The graphical tree structure on the left of the Job page holds all the information about the job. Each node of the tree is a section which stores specific job information that can be modified. To see activity steps for each section, select it's name from the dropdown list in the Procedure section below.
Note- This page is a basic data page, and it is currently (24R2) not linked to any operational pages, do use this to define Job specs without company dependency.
There are three sections General, Qualifications and
Responsibilities that are currently recorded at a job definition at the global job’s
architecture.
The General section consists of the information listed below. This information is not
mandatory however, the HCM professional/ organization can choose what is more relevant for their job
architecture and use accordingly.
The information provided above is recorded and linked with a registered job. Among these records, the categories listed above, excluding Job Group, allow for a single default value to be recorded for given date range.
Before introducing the Global Job Architecture Pages, the basic data pages Job Families, Job Categories, and Job Functional Areas were already defined globally and were not tied to any specific company. These categories were independent and could be linked to any compatible registered job. Therefor these basic data pages are reused at the Global Job Architecture. (If any basic data is defined here, this will also reflect in the company Dependent Job Definition pages).
The Qualifications section will consist of competencies and certificates for a registered Job.
The Responsibilities section will encompass the specific duties
and obligations pertinent to the job. This information is essential for generating accurate job descriptions using
the content generation tool provided. The listed responsibilities will be utilized to create and display the
relevant duties in the job description.
