Phase Out and Replace Component

You can use this feature to phase out or replace a component part in one or several specific structures or in all structures.
By clearing the Update all Effective Structures setting, the page will populate all structures in which the components are effective and you can select the structures you want to replace the component with.

The replacement of a component can be done for:

If structures exist with a parent part phase-in date earlier than the component part phase-in date, a new revision will be created. There is a setting that will be selected if this is the situation for one or more structures.

If the structure has an existing phase-out date and if a new revision is created then the new revision will have the same phase-out date.
These rules are independent of the site rules which are valid for manufacturing.

There are different rules depending on how you have managed to set up manufacturing for the site.

If the site rules are simplified, you have the option of creating new revisions. Even if the site rules do not generate new revisions, you can override the site rules by selecting the Create New Revision setting.
You can create a new revision in the same status as the revisions that you will replace, by selecting the Create Revision setting in same status as the existing status.

If you have more than one alternate structure for the same revision and one of the alternates gets a new revision, all alternates will get new revisions, because revision is per structure and not per alternate.
Below are rules over how the time for the phase-out date and structures phase-in date works in relation to each other.
