Information sources are a combination of facts and dimensions which are structured and holds information about a
specific transaction table in IFS Cloud. Currently there are 6 information sources based on IFS Maintenance. One or
many of these information sources can be used when creating an IFS Business Reporter report.
An overview of each information source which is mainly based on IFS Maintenance, is given below:
General Description
Work Order Information Source is based on work orders. This information source carries work orders in all
statuses, i.e both active and historical work orders as well as work requests and fault reports.

This can be used to calculate for instance MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Elapsed Waiting Time
The difference between Actual Start Date and Date Created on the work order,
expressed in hours.

This can be used to calculate for instance MWT (Mean Waiting Time).
- Originated From Fault
This is set to 1 (one) if the work order was registered as a Fault Report or
Work Request, otherwise it is set to 0 (zero).
This can be used to compare the total number of work orders with those that are faults to get a fault ratio.
- Late Actual vs. Latest Start
This is set to 1 (one) if the Actual Start Date was later than the
Latest Start Date, otherwise it is set to 0 (zero).
If not both dates are available no calculation will be made.
This is measuring if the work order was started later than it had to be to be finished on time (based on planned
execution time).
- Late Actual vs. Latest Finish
This is set to 1 (one) if the Actual Finish Date was later than the
Latest Finish Date, otherwise it is set to 0 (zero).
If not both dates are available no calculation will be made.
This is measuring if the work order was finished later than when requested by the customer or orderer of the
work.
- Late Actual vs. Planned Start
This is set to 1 (one) if the Actual Start Date was later than the
Planned Start Date, otherwise it is set to 0 (zero).
If not both dates are available no calculation will be made.
This is measuring if the work order was started later than when it was planned or scheduled to start, i.e
measuring how well the organization is doing in the planning/scheduling process.
- Late Actual vs. Planned Finish
This is set to 1 (one) if the Actual Finish Date was later than the
Planned Finish Date, otherwise it is set to 0 (zero).
If not both dates are available no calculation will be made.
This is measuring if the work order was finished later than it was planned or scheduled to finish, i.e measuring
how well the organization is doing in the planning/scheduling process.
- Late Actual vs. Earliest Start
This is set to 1 (one) if the Actual Start Date was later than the

General Description
Information Source is based on the work order that can have one or more work tasks connected to it. Work task is
an entity which executes the work initiated through a Fault Report or Service request. You can use this window to
update information about the faulty equipment if it differs from the reported one. Performed maintenance activities
are reported, monitored and invoiced to customer if IFS/Service Management is used, through the work task.
