What is Emissions Management?

Emissions Management, launched in the 25R1 release, helps organizations accurately calculate Scope 1 and 2 emissions according to Greenhouse Gas Protocol, with Scope 3 and additional features coming in future releases.

• Define Emission Sources - Create Emission Sources and setting up Parameters & Templates
• Add Data to Parameters - Add configuration data, add activity data, and calculate emissions
• Emissions Overview – Consists of transactional level emissions data history and Lobby for high level insights

 Concepts

1. Emission Source - An emission source refers to any equipment or process that generates emissions.  
2. Parameter Templates - Pre-Configured emission templates will automate most of the configuration work required for emission calculation.

Define Emission Sources

An emission source refers to any equipment or process that generates emissions. There are two ways an emission sources can be used within Emissions Management,

1. Creating Emission Sources in Emission Management module.
2. Existing assets from Asset Management can be enabled and reused as emission sources with Emissions Management.

Once an emission source is defined, a parameter template should be assigned to it. Emission management consist of a set of pre-configured parameter templates supporting scope 1 and 2 in 25R1. These templates automate most of the configuration work needed for emission calculation.

Add Data to Parameters

At the time of assigning a parameter template, the parameters required for emission calculation is applied to an emission source. This process consists of completing configuration data, adding activity data, and calculate emissions.

• Configurations Data - Example of configuration data can be fuel, region, source, etc. Region is usually auto selected based on the site’s location, whereas the user needs to set the fuel of the emission source when its for fuel combustion.
• Activity Data - User can add activity data. Example: Fuel consumption. Actual/Estimate can be marked for transparency. Activity data can also be bulk uploaded using an excel template.
• Emissions - Emissions will be calculated at the time of adding activity data

Emissions Overview

• Data History - Complete visibility into every calculated emission, activity input, and configuration, captured at a granular, transactional level. Data can easily be exported to Excel, helping streamline reporting.
• Lobby - Track high level emissions insights and monitor progress over time
