Start Break

Explanation

This activity is used to start a break. The breaks, defined for the shift, are accessed through the Show Breaks command in My Work. When a break is started, user has option to pause the ongoing assignments. Setting the ongoing assignments on pause can also be enforced to user via a workflow configuration. Break starts, the start time of the break is set, and a new command to End Break is enabled. The work status icon will update to an amber/orange color.

Prerequisites

An active shift including breaks must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the break status is changed to started. If the break started is not the next break, any prior planned breaks, which have not been started, are ignored, and any already started breaks are ended.
