Sign Off Task
Explanation
Once all sign-off requirements for measurements, parts, tools, and steps are complete, the task can be certified
by an authorized staff certifier, an independent inspector (RII), or, if required, by both.
If the fault or task has a flight safety impact or ETOPS significance, an independent inspector’s sign-off
is required.
The independent inspector can only sign after the staff certifier has signed. The same user cannot sign as both
the staff certifier and the independent inspector.
If assigned, a certifier or inspector can certify the task through a skill requirement. If not assigned, they
can sign off on the task using the Final Sign Off button on the Task
Details page.
Final sign off completes the task.
Prerequisites
- If the staff certifier or independent inspector signs off the task using the Final Sign Off
button, there should be no Work Started skill assignments within the task.
- All part records, tools, skills, measurements and steps are signed off.
- The staff certifier or independent inspector must have the task sign-off permission enabled on the
Sign-Off User Permissions page.
System Effects
- The status of the task changes to Completed.
- The status of the corresponding fault changes to Closed.
- The status of inactive skill assignments with the status Assigned are changed to
Cancelled.
- When sign off by both the staff certifier and independent inspector is required, once the staff certifier
signs off the task, skills, measurements, parts, tools and steps cannot be added to the task.
- When task status changes to Complete, information related to the component change,
installation or removal is sent to configuration management service (CMS) for validation. During the time from
task completion until CMS validation, a yellow banner is displayed on the task/fault card to indicate that the
CMS validation is still pending. If a red banner is displayed on the task/fault card, a configuration issue has
been identified. A detailed warning can be viewed by clicking View Warnings on the
Task/Fault Part Change page on the mobile application. On the web application, the
detailed warning can be viewed on the Part Removals and Part
Installations tabs of the Task Details page, by expanding the row with
the configuration warning. If a configuration warning is displayed for a task or fault, it is
also indicated via the Configuration Warning badge on the Work Tasks
page/tab for the task.
- For more details, see About CMS Validations. For information on the
impact on the aircraft configuration in CAMO, based on values set in CAMO for warning parameters, refer to the
CMS API Guide published with CAMO documentation.
- Upon completing a REPL task published from CAMO, the status of the REPL task changes to CANCEL in CAMO.
