Connect Service Organization to Service
Explanation
Use this activity to connect Service Organizations that can deliver the service. The Service Organizations
defined on the Service will be available for selection when creating a Request, a Scope and a Recurring program
scope for the Service. The first Service Organization added to a Service will be set as the Default, but it is
possible to change the default by selecting a line and clicking Set Default, or to clear it by using the Remove
Default command.
When you create a Request in the New Request assistant, there are three ways a Service Organization and Service
Delivery Unit can be set:
- If a default Service Organization has been defined, it will be set automatically upon selecing the Service in
the New Request assistant. It is possible for the user to change this using the Service Organization List of
Values (LOV).
- By defining Selection Rules. The selection rules
will set the Service Organization and optionally the Service Delivery Unit in the New Request assistant based on
the values entered for Service, Region, Model and Customer. A selection rule has the highest priority when
evaluating which Service Organization and Service Delivery Unit should be set.
- Manually.
Prerequisites
- A Service must be defined.
- A Service Organization must be defined in Service Management/Service Management Basic
Data.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a Service Organization will be connected to a Service.
