About Part Request Management
In ICAM Part Request Management is the process of handling demands for parts. These demands come from aircraft
work packages. This process ensures the required part is approved, reserved, ordered/repaired and delivered on time
to the maintenance crew.
The material controller can manually reserve a part at the station where the aircraft work is scheduled to occur;
or at a remote location and ask for the part to be shipped. In a situation where a part is required with a
relatively higher level of urgency (e.g AOG situation), it will be possible for a material controller to borrow a
part from a supplier or customer, to expedite a purchase order or repair.
