Technical Specification Status

The technical requirements are determined for a particular object. Technical data is assigned to the object by connecting the object class with a technical class that contains technical attributes. Values can be defined to those technical attributes to describe the object's technical requirements. The technical attribute values can then be approved and locked by setting the Technical Specification status of the object to Approved. To modify the technical attributes, the technical specification status of the object has to be set to Not Approved.

Design object technical data and technical specification status values can be integrated with a Functional Object in IFS/Equipment if both objects are connected to the same technical class. When sharing this information, the technical specification status of the receiving object changes according to the following ways:

• The Set Completed and Set Planned For Operation design status changes transfer technical data from the design object to the corresponding equipment object. These operations set the technical specification status to Not Approved on the equipment object to allow updates of the technical specification from IFS/Asset Design.
• The Set Redesign design status change transfers technical data from the equipment object to the corresponding design object. This operation sets the technical specification status to Not Approved on the design object to allow updates of the technical specification from IFS/Equipment.
