Add Service Types on CRO Repair
Explanation
You can add service types when the CRO repair is already released for repair on the Service
Types tab. You can add service types as long as the order has not acquired the Completed
status.
It is possible to facilitate and speed up the service process for small and easy services by setting up a
predefined work scope for the repair order types Work Order and Repair Shop Order. For the repair
order types Disposition Shop Order and External Service Order it is not possible to generate a
predefined work scope, the work scope must be created manually. The predefined work scope is generated from the
repair codes connected to the service type.
A service type provides two purposes: (1) Generates a price for the service and (2) Defines the repair work
scope. It is possible to add service types as long as the repair order is not completed. A CRO repair can have one
or more service types assigned. A service type can be removed only if the CRO repair is not released.
Prerequisites
- A work order, repair shop order, or an external service order must have been created as a repair order for
the CRO repair.
- Service types must have been connected to the repair part on the Part Service Definition and
Pricing page.
- Repair codes must have been connected to the service type on the Part Service Definition and
Pricing page.
- For work order, repair codes and repair part must have been connected to the work task template.
- For shop order, repair codes must have been connected to the repair part’s repair code structure.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the following can occur depending on the repair order type:
- When adding service types to work orders and repair shop orders, the work scope is updated as well.
- Work order: The work scope on the work order is updated with these tasks, if there are work task
templates related to the added service type.
- Repair shop order: All material and operations connected to the service type, and those which do not
already exist on the repair shop order, are added.
- When adding service types to disposition shop order and external service order, the work scope must be
generated manually.
- Disposition shop order: If a service type is added after release for repair, all changes of connections
between the disposition material and operation lines must be done manually. In other words, nothing happens
on the disposition shop order when the service type is added.
- External service order: You can change the default service type in order to reconnect the purchase order
transaction to the added service type as long as the invoice is not matched.
