Define Cost/Revenue Elements

Explanation

This activity is used to define project cost/revenue elements for a company.

Enable Default option, if you want the cost element to be the default cost element of the current company. Enable Default No Base Value, if you want the cost/revenue element to be default for all transaction postings with no value for the code part used as the base for cost/revenue element. This can be enabled only for elements of type Cost, select command Default No Base Value, select the cost/revenue element of type cost, click Toggle Default No Base Value. Enable Budget/Planning Only, if you want the cost/revenue element to be budget/planning only. This is required to plan on node level in the cost/revenue breakdown structure.

Enable the Include Committed Cost in Forecast Spread option to activate the ability to spread committed costs on the Project Forecast for the relevant cost elements.

This setting is applicable for cost type elements only. Once enabled for a cost element, if there are committed costs associated with that element within a project forecast, the system will allow those costs to be spread into future periods of the project timeline.
