Define Planned Return Parts

Explanation

Use this activity to define planned return parts in a Standard Task.

Planned return parts are items expected to be returned during the execution of a service. Defining these parts in advance ensures they are automatically included when a task is generated from the Standard Task, improving consistency and reducing manual effort. You perform this activity on the Returns tab of the Standard Task page, where you specify details such as Part No, Description, Condition Code, Quantity to Return, and Remark.

You can define planned return parts while creating a Standard Task using the New Standard Task assistant. Any return parts entered during this process are automatically saved to the Returns tab of the created Standard Task.

The Returns tab is also available on the Service Catalog page, allowing you to view the planned returns associated with the Standard Tasks connected to a Service. This provides clear visibility into expected returns without opening each task individually.

When a task is generated from a Standard Task with defined planned return parts, the return lines are automatically created in the task. If Return Code applicability is configured, the system uses these criteria during task generation to auto-default a valid Return Code or trigger a validation warning if the criteria are not met.
