Report Operation
Explanation
This activity is used to register the actual usage of serials, recorded either as part of ground maintenance
tests or post maintenance check flights. Often these testing activities have specific data recording requirements,
such as, temperature at different operating ranges, flight control travel and fuel consumption. These requirements
need to be recorded and made available to engineering personnel, as required. The specific aspects of each ground
maintenance test activity or post maintenance test flight are often recorded on company specific test sheets and
provided to operational and engineering personnel alike as source information for analysis and confirmation that a
part can still meet its certification requirements.
Loggings are based on a start and finish date and the defined operational parameters for the part. Operational
loggings can be reported for events that have occurred provided that the operational loggings are sequential. When
the test results are recorded on company specific data sheets, these can be attached to the operational log of the
part by using the Attachments panel. For more information on operational loggings, refer to the activity
Report Operational Loggings.
Prerequisites
- The structure must be completed at the start of the logging, i.e., the minimum configuration must be in place
for the date entered in the Last From Date field.
- There cannot exist loggings with a start or finish date later than the date entered in the Last From
Date field.
- All operational parameters that are to be logged or calculated during logging must have been defined.
- The maximum value that is allowed for a logging must have been registered.
- For LLPs (life limited parts) to get the correct information, all life limits and stress ratings must have
been defined and set at the given time of the logging.
- The logging can be connected to an operational event when reporting the logging. This connection applies only
to serials for which the operational event is registered.
- If operational loggings are to be reported on a flight, the belonging flight must be in the Open
status.
System Effects
- The registered values are saved on the serial and on all serials in its structure at the time the data is
entered. Measured operational parameters are a result of the operational parameters indicated for the maintenance
group of the serial.
- The values registered during this activity will be used for the next due calculation and can result in the
creation of a new maintenance event.
- For operational loggings that are reported on a flight, the loggings will be spread on the serial and its
structure when closing the corresponding flight log. If any operational parameters without measure data exists on
the flight, these parameter records will be deleted automatically from the operational log.
