Set Up and Assign Skill Certificates for Technicians

To assign a technician as an executor, certifier, or inspector for a labor skill requirement, the necessary skill certificate should be configured and assigned to them.

The following procedures outline how to configure skill certificates for technicians.

1. Verify the Attribute ID Configuration

  1. Open the Resource Attribute Manager.
  2. Ensure the following resource attribute IDs are configured under the Resource attribute type:
    • EXECUTOR-CERTIFICATE
    • CERTIFIER-CERTIFICATE
    • INSPECTOR-CERTIFICATE

2. Configure Resource Attributes for the Resource Group

  1. Go to Resource Management/Resource/Resource Groups and open the Resource Group Details page for the resource you want to configure certificates.
  2. Ensure the technician user is added under the PERSONS tab.
  3. Add the following resource attributes in the Attributes tab:
    • EXECUTOR-CERTIFICATE
    • CERTIFIER-CERTIFICATE
    • INSPECTOR-CERTIFICATE
  4. For each resource attribute, add the attribute text in the following format. Ensure the Attribute Text does not exceed 20 characters:
    • <Resource-ID>-<text> (e.g., MECH-EXECUTOR)
    • <Resource-ID>-<text> (e.g., MECH-CERTIFIER)
    • <Resource-ID>-<text> (e.g., MECH-INSPECTOR)

3. Define Certificates in the Certificate Structure

  1. Open Human Capital Management/HCM Services/Job and Qualifications/Qualifications/Certificates Structure.
  2. Create a new certificate group or select an existing certificate group from the tree view.
  3. Add the relevant certificates under the CERTIFICATES tab. The ID should be the same as the Attribute Text configured in the previous section.
  4. Provide a certificate Name and save the record.

4. Assign Technicians to Person Certificates

  1. Open Human Capital Management/HCM Services/Person Management/Person Qualifications/Person Certificates.
  2. Click New, select the technician user as the Person, and select the Certificate Group and Certificate configured in previous procedures.

Skill Requirement (Labor Demand) Defines skill and role requirements when raising a fault or publishing a task from CAMO. Upon task publication, skill requirements specified from CAMO are mapped with corresponding certificates in IFS Cloud. Task "Operational check of autopilot system (AP/FD)" is published with the following skill requirements:
  • Avionics-Executor
  • Avionics-Certifier
  • Avionics-Inspector
Assignment Allow skill requirements to be assigned or self-assigned to technicians based on their certificates. The skill requirements for the task are assigned or self-assigned as follows:
  • Avionics-Executor requirement is assigned to Brian Mills
  • Avionics-Certifier requirement is assigned to Kevin Anderson
  • Avionics-Inspector requirement is assigned to Jenna Smith
