Add Critical Item

Explanation

In the Airline Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) industry, a Critical Item refers to a task, defect, or component within a work order that requires immediate attention due to its potential impact on operational efficiency or aircraft delivery timelines. These high-priority items demand proactive tracking and quick resolution. However, supervisors and crew leads currently lack a centralized system to monitor and manage these critical items within work packages. This gap leads to inefficiencies, delays, and the risk of overlooking urgent tasks. Without real-time visibility, it becomes difficult to allocate resources effectively or escalate issues promptly. Additionally, because critical items are not consistently categorized or prioritized, their resolution is often delayed, negatively affecting overall workflow and aircraft readiness.

A critical item can be added to a task, fault, or work package and can be marked as Completed once it has been addressed.

Only the hangar supervisor or hangar crew lead has the permission to add, edit, delete, or complete critical items.

Critical items can only be deleted when they are in Active status. If a critical item is in Completed status, it cannot be edited or deleted.

Critical items can be added from the work package page. If a task is selected, the critical item appears in the Critical Items tab of the corresponding Task Details page. If no task is selected, the critical item will be considered a work package-level critical item.
