Create Part Return Line
Explanation
Technicians can create return lines for for non-repairable parts. Parts are typically returned when they become
unserviceable, meaning they are removed from service due to wear, damage, or having reached the end of their
service life, or when they are placed in quarantine due to suspected defects or pending quality assurance
inspection.
When the part removal record for a repairable part is signed, a return line is automatically created.
Prerequisites
- The task must be in In Work status.
- The fault must be in Open or Deferred status.
- The part must be returnable.
- The part’s removal reason must not be ACCESS.
Procedure
You must be online to perform this procedure.
- Open the Task Details or Fault Details page.
- Go the Part Removals tab.
- Select the part removal record.
- Select Create Return Line.

- Part return line appears on the Returns tab on the Task Details and
Fault Details pages and Hangar Maintenance Work Package, Aircraft Turn
Details and Component Returns pages.
