Generate Shift Handover Report
Explanation
Handover Details and Reporting enables supervisors, and crew leads to manage maintenance transitions between
shifts. It improves visibility into task status, supports shift notes, and facilitates the generation, emailing and
printing of shift handover reports. These capabilities enhance communication, support compliance, and help maintain
operational continuity.
This report is available in both line and hangar maintenance.
To view the report as a PDF, select Print, then select Preview. You can print and
email shift handover reports. Once generated, the report will be available in the Report Archive
page, which can be bookmarked on your browser for quick access to historical shift handover documents.
Handover notes can only be added in hangar maintenance. Notes can be edited or deleted only by the user who created
them, and only within the defined report duration.
Notes:
- In line maintenance, deferred faults approved by MOC do not appear in the Deferred Faults Within the
Time Range section.
- When a technician changes the default report duration, navigates to a Task Details page, and
then returns to the Handover Details and Reporting page, the default report duration is
restored. The changed report duration does not persist across navigations.
Prerequisites
- Configure the HANDOVER_REPORT_PERIOD_HOURS parameter from the Maintenance Execution
Parameters page. It defines the default time range, in hours, used to calculate the
From value for shift handover reports and determines how far back from the current time
maintenance tasks are shown.
- Grant appropriate user permissions for line and hangar supervisors and hangar crew leads.
- An email sender must be configured in the Solution Manager/Integration/IFS Connect/Setup IFS
Connect/Sender page. For more information about configuring the email sender, see IFS Technical
Documentation.
System Effects
- When the Print button is selected, a shift handover report is generated and archived. This
can be viewed from the Report Archive page.
- If you select a printer, the report is sent to the chosen device for printing, using the selected layout and
number of copies.
- If selected, the report is emailed to the specified email address.
