About Master Panel Card and Panel Execution

The opening and closing of panels that are required when you perform maintenance execution will be handled via Master Panel Card (MPC) tasks that get published from CAMO.

You can view the panel instructions from the latest revisions of the Open Panel JIC and Close Panel JIC prior to opening/closing the panel on the Panels tab (i.e., on the Task Details page of MPC open/close tasks) and on the Task Card page when signing off the opening/closing of the panel.

View Panel Status

The Panel Status field indicates the status of an individual panel and is useful to identify what action needs to be taken next on the panel.  Possible statuses are:

Panel Status Description
To be Opened The panel is still to be opened. There is no sign-off on the panel opening
Opened The panel has been opened and there is at least one sign off against the panel.
Ready To Close All maintenance tasks requiring the panel to be opened and the connected MPC open task are all completed.
Closed All skills are signed off against the panel, and the status of the MPC close task of the panel is signed off.
No MPC This panel doesn't have a connected MPC open/close task.
Not Linked The panel was removed from one or more maintenance tasks and is no longer linked to any maintenance tasks.

View Overall Panel Status

The Overall Panel Status field indicates the status of all the panels of a maintenance task and is useful to decide whether to start work on the maintenance task. Possible statuses are:

Panel Status Description
To be Opened Work has not started to open any of the panels listed on the maintenance task.
Opened All panels listed on the maintenance task are opened and all those associated MPC open tasks are completed.
Ready To Close
  • All panels listed on the maintenance task are completed.
  • The maintenance task from which the overall panel status is being viewed is closed.
  • Any maintenance tasks sharing any of the same panels are also completed.

Closed All MPC close tasks connected to the panels in the maintenance task are completed.
No MPC The maintenance task does not require panels to be opened or closed.

Open a Panel

You can open a panel to perform a maintenance task by signing off its MPC open task.

This completes the sign-off of opening the panel and updates the panel status from To Be Opened to Opened. If you have at least one opening sign off for the panel its panel status shows as Opened

Perform Maintenance Task

You can start a maintenance task once you open all the panels that are required for it by signing off all those panels in their corresponding MPC open tasks.

Add/Remove Panels

You can add or remove zones and panels from a maintenance task in the corresponding Zones/Panels tabs of its Task Details page and also when raising a fault or a non-routine. However, for panels added to maintenance tasks after workscope generation, opening or closing of the panels must be recorded on the maintenance task as they will not have connected MPC tasks

When you raise a fault or a non-routine, the zones and panels you add on its corrective task are synchronized to CAMO. Also, when you defer a fault or a non-routine, which require you to execute panels, the deferred fault or non-routine gets removed from the MPC tasks.

Once all the maintenance tasks, which require a particular panel to be opened are completed, both the panel status and the overall panel status of the corresponding maintenance tasks become Ready To Close

If several maintenance tasks require the execution of one or more panels from the same zone so that they are connected by the same MPC tasks, you cannot close any of them until you complete all other dependent maintenance tasks. This is true even if all panels linked to one maintenance task are individually in the Ready To Close status.

Close a Panel

You can close a panel after all the maintenance tasks, which require it are completed.

Signing off the MPC close task of the panel updates the panel status from Ready to Close to Closed

Also, the overall panel status of the maintenance tasks, which require this panel becomes Closed.
