Enter Kit Definition
Explanation
This activity is used to manage Kit parts and their associated components. A part is recognized as a Kit part if
the Kit Part indicator is set to Yes on the Part page,
Main tab, Miscellaneous Part Settings Group. For a Kit
Part, Component parts can be added by using the Kit Definition page and the Kit
Definition functions as a global template, allowing users to add or remove component parts as needed.
Each component part may be either tracked or non-tracked, and a Quantity per Assembly value specifies how many
units of each component are required to assemble one Kit part. Kit Definitions are not site-specific and therefore
apply globally across all sites for the specified Kit part.
The Kit Definitions page displays all Kit parts along with their corresponding
component parts. Users can search for Kit definitions using either the Kit part number or any associated component
part number.
