Get Warehouse Task - Transport
Explanation
If a transport task is activated in Warehouse Task Basic Data/Warehouse Task Type Setup page, a warehouse
task is generated when a transport task is created. If that is the case, it is possible to execute the transport
task in warehousing as well.
Warehouse tasks can be assigned to a warehouse worker either before that task has been started or when it is
started.
The warehouse tasks are ordered by their latest start date and priority. If a task has been assigned to a
warehouse worker before it was started, this task is prioritized over other tasks. When a new task is started, it
is assigned to a specific warehouse worker; depending on the task types and the location groups, he can work on the
next task selected.
Note:
- After completing a task it is possible to start a new task and the completed task will disappear from the
task list.
- If there are no tasks available in the queue, it is possible click New and you can assign a suitable
task. The New option is enabled only if there are no tasks available in the queue.
Prerequisites
- The warehouse task type setup must be set for the specific task type. The task must have Active status
in Warehouse Task Basic Data/Warehouse Task Type Setup page.
- The warehouse worker must be entered for the specified site in Warehouse Task Basic Data/Warehouse
Worker page. Also, the task type and location group must be entered for the worker and be activated in both
Warehouse Task Basic Data/Warehouse Worker/Task Type tab and Warehouse Task Basic Data/Warehouse
Worker/Location Group.
- A warehouse task must have been created. It is the task type setup that decides whether a task will be
created. You can see if there are any available tasks in Warehouse Tasks. Also, the task must have
Released status.
System Effects
When a warehouse task has been selected, the status of the task is changed to Started, which means that
the transport task is being performed.
