Create MSO Site
Explanation
Use this activity to create a site where shop order operations are scheduled using the Manufacturing Scheduling
and Optimization (MSO) solution. If the site is configured as an Automatic MSO site, all scheduling actions
will be handled exclusively by the MSO scheduling service. In contrast, for Manual MSO sites, the shop order
infinite scheduler is used for immediate scheduling. However, upon user request, MSO can be invoked to update the
schedule, taking finite scheduling constraints into account.
This MSO site should be created by a production planner, based on the PSO scheduling server configuration set up
by a system administrator or an equivalent technical role, following the PSO technical documentation.
Prerequisites
- MSO solution uses IFS Planning Scheduling and Optimization (PSO) solution based tenant as its scheduling
service. Therefore, it is mandatory to have a configured PSO scheduling server in the backend to execute this
activity.
- Site must be defined, and the user must have the manufacturing standard data on the specific site, which is
required to schedule considering finite constraints.
- All calendars linked to resource constraints must be in the generated state for those resources to
be considered during scheduling.
- A valid time zone must be defined for the site to ensure accurate schedule generation.
System Effects
- The site can be enabled to use with MSO either in Manual or Automatic mode with the
specified basic data.
- Finite scheduling related pages would be enabled and rearranged based on the scheduling mode selected.
