Define Operation Block Finite Scheduling Settings

Explanation

This activity is used to define operation block settings to configure the operation block when scheduling with Manufacturing Scheduling and Optimization (MSO).

To perform this activity from the Operation Block page, enter or select the relevant values in the appropriate fields.

If it is necessary to schedule preceding and/or succeeding operation blocks along with the current operation block, the Preceding Block and Succeeding Block fields must be set accordingly.

To schedule the operation block with a preferred resource, the Preferred Resource field must be defined.

If the operation block needs to be scheduled at or after a specific start time, enter the desired date and time in the New Start Date/Time field. Similarly, to schedule the operation block at or before a specific finish time, enter the desired value in the New Finish Date/Time field.

If it is necessary to define a new setup time for all operations within the operation block, provide the value in the New Setup Time field.

Prerequisites

The Include Operation Blocks toggle must be enabled, and the site must be active on the Finite Scheduling Basic Data page to configure operation blocks from the Operation Block page.

System Effects

• If the scheduling mode is manual, values given in the Finite Scheduling Configurations tab on the Operation Block page will be sent to the scheduling engine with the next full site finite schedule or the relevant subset or selective schedule for the current operation block, where they will be considered for finite scheduling.
• If the scheduling mode is automatic, values given in the Finite Scheduling Configurations tab on the Operation Block page will be immediately sent to the scheduling engine, where they will be considered for finite scheduling.
