Click Accept Calculations to replace the existing or current kanban quantities for a kanban
circuit with newly recalculated quantities. Once you accept the changes, the new quantities are ready for
implementation on the shop floor and the system adds or subtracts the appropriate number of kanban cards. The
status of the circuit is Recalculated before the changes are accepted. After acceptance, you can change the status
as adjustments are made to the kanbans. Acceptance of the new quantities marks the transition from the kanban
planning to the kanban execution process.
Kanban cards with the New and In Circulation status can be changed to the
Surplus status and vice versa. Surplus cards have restricted usage. However, they are counted as
usable when calculating the number of new cards that need to be created. Only printed kanban cards that have their
quantity recalculated will be made obsolete after accepting the recalculation. Not printed cards will remain in the
same status as before the calculation. The other way you can change the status of the cards to obsolete is by
manually changing their status.
If new kanban cards are needed when performing calculations, they should be created based on the following formula :
New Kanban Cards = Kanban Cards Required - (New + In Circulation + Surplus Kanban Cards)
This activity requires that the status of the kanban circuit is Recalculated and that the new
kanban quantities differ from the current quantities.
Recalculation and Acceptance can also be done for kanban circuits in status Inactive and the
status will then be displayed as Inactive through the process
