Report Disassembly Scrap
Explanation
This activity is used to report scrap of a disassembly component. I.e., a component disassembled from the
product that could not be recovered.
To report disassembly scrap from:
- Shop Order Operations Reporting/Internal Operations: Select the operation
on which the scrap was detected and click Report Disassembly Scrap.
- Shop Floor Workbench/Dispatch List: Select the operation on which the scrap was
detected, click Scrap and then Disassembly Component.
- Shop Floor Workbench/Dispatch List/Disassembly Components: Expand
the operation, select the disassembly component to be scrapped from the Disassembly
Components tab and click Scrap.
- Operation Guide: Click Scrap and then Disassembly
Component.
- Operation Guide/Disassembly Components: Select the
disassembly component to be scrapped and click Scrap.
In the assistant:
- Select the disassembly component to be scrapped in the Disassembly Component field.
- When opened from Shop Floor Workbench/Disassembly Components or Operation
Guide, section Disassembly Components, the selected component appears by
default.
- If the disassembly component is serial tracked, and serial number(s) has been reserved, enter the serial
number to be scrapped in the Serial No field.
- Enter the Qty to Scrap. If a serial number is entered, the value is always 1.
- Enter a Scrap Reason. If a Default Disassembly Scrap Reason was entered on
the Site/Manufacturing page, it appears by default.
- Optionally, select the Operation on which the scrap was detected. The selected operation
appears by default.
Prerequisites
- The shop order status must be Released, Reserved or
Started.
- The shop order must have a disassembly component with a remaining quantity.
- If the shop order type is Disassembly, the issued quantity of the disassembled part must
cover the scrapped and received quantity of the disassembly component to be scrapped.
- A scrap reason must have been defined.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The scrapped quantity on the disassembly component line will be increased. If the reported scrap exceeds the
planned scrap given the defined scrap factor, the supply quantity for the line will be decreased.
- A manufacturing material history record will be created to record the scrap event.
- If the scrap is recorded against a serial number, this serial number will be unreserved from the shop order.
If a record exists for this serial number on the Part Serial page, it will be updated
and the Operational Status is set to Scrapped.
- If a lot/batch number was reserved to the disassembly component line, a history record will be added to the
Part Lot Batch page.
