Schedule Operation Block with MSO
Explanation
This activity is used to manually finite schedule shop order operations that are connected to a particular
operation block.
To perform this activity from the Operation Block page, click Finite Schedule.
Prerequisites
- The Include Operation Blocks toggle must be enabled, and the site must be active on the
Finite Scheduling Basic Data page to allow scheduling of operation blocks with
Manufacturing Scheduling and Optimization (MSO).
- Operations must be connected to an operation block on the Operation Block
page.
System Effects
- All the shop orders where the operations are connected to the selected operation block and all the affected
shop orders will be finitely (re)scheduled.
- If a proceeding operation block is set, the start date/time of the current operation block will be the same
or later than the finish time of the preceding block.
- If a succeeding operation block is set, the finish date/time of the current operation block will be the same
or earlier than the start time of the succeeding block.
- If a preferred resource is set, MSO will prioritize the preferred resource when assigning operations to the
respective work center.
- If a new start date is set, all the operations connected to the operation block will be scheduled after
that.
- If a new finish date is set, all the operations connected to the operation block will be scheduled before
that.
- If a new setup time is set, all the operations connected to the operation block will be scheduled with the
given setup time. If it is null, the machine setup time from shop order operations will be used to schedule the
setup of the operation.
