Use this activity to run an MRP Simulation using predefined supply and demand data stored on the Simulation Profile - MRP Parts page. You can execute this simulation for a site or a planning network. This method provides a stable and repeatable simulation environment, ideal for comparing planning scenarios over time.
If the simulation encounters an MS-Planned component or a sub-assembly, it will automatically trigger a live Master Scheduling (MS) calculation for that MS-Planned part within the selected Material Planning Scenario.
The MRP Simulation job is posted as a background job and can either be started now or schedule for later execution.
A simulation profile must be created and populated with data.
As a result of this activity, MRP simulation is executed using the independent demands, open supply orders, on-hand inventory, and key planning parameters from the simulation profile without retrieving live system updates.
