Correct Operational Logging
Explanation
This activity is used to correct operational loggings. You can add a missing operational logging, correct an
existing one or mark an operational logging as a redundant logging for a vehicle and its components. Keeping track
of the utilization of a vehicle and its components is critical to ensure that due dates for maintenance is
calculated correctly. This again, ensures that maintenance is done at the correct time and that the vehicle is not
operated beyond the due dates.
Calculated operational parameters can be corrected in the same way as all other parameters. Note that if a
parameter used in a formula is corrected, no automatic calculation will be done for the calculated operational
parameter.
Note: The operational logging correction process may take some time if a large number of operational
loggings and serials need to be updated.
To perform this activity, search for the necessary serial from the Correct Operational Loggings page and enter a
date interval in the Last From Date and Last To Date fields to limit the number of operational
loggings to be displayed.
To add a missing operational logging for a serial:
- Select the operational logging that the new logging should be placed after from the table in Reported
Operational Loggings section and click Add Operational Logging option. Add Operational Logging dialog
opens. All valid parameters for the serial's maintenance group with values for the selected record will be
displayed in the table of the dialog.
- Change the default dates to the correct dates of the logging which is to be added in the Last From
Date and Last To Date fields. Enable the Spread on Structure option if the new logging is to be
spread on to the structure. Enter an explanation in the Correction Remark field.
- Enter the correct value for the new logging in the Accumulated Value field or the Add On Value
field found in the table of the dialog. If the accumulated value is given, the add on value will be updated
automatically and vice versa.
- The Add On Value Total is defaulted with the same value as Add On Value,
but this value can be changed. If you change Add On Value Total so it differs from Add
On Value, Add On Value Total will not be updated if you change Add On
Value once again. Value Total is accumulated based on Add On Value
Total.
- Additional operational parameters are listed in the dialog (i.e., new valid parameters have been added later
than the selected logging), you can log enter loggings on these parameters as well or leave them untouched. The
default value for these parameters is 0 (zero).
To modify an existing operational logging for a serial:
- Select the operational logging that is to be corrected from the table in Reported Operational Loggings
section and click Modify Operational Logging. Modify Operational Logging dialog will open with all
parameters logged at the same date and time as the selected record.
- Enable the Spread on Structure option if the new logging is to be spread on to the structure. Enter an
explanation in the Correction Remark field. Enter the correct value in the Add On Value field or
the Value After Overhaul field found in the table of the dialog. If the add on value is given, the value
after overhaul will be updated automatically and vice versa.
- The Add On Value Total is defaulted with the same value as Add On Value,
but this value can be changed. If you change Add On Value Total so it differs from Add
On Value, Add On Value Total will not be updated if you change Add On
Value once again. If the Add On Value Total field is cleared, the Add On Value
Total defined on the logging being modified will be stored unchanged. Value Total is
accumulated based on Add On Value Total.
To set an operational logging as redundant for a serial:
- Select the operational logging that is to be set redundant from the table in Reported Operational Loggings
section and click Modify Operational Logging. Modify Operational Logging dialog will open with all
parameters logged at the same date and time as the selected record.
- Enable the Spread on Structure option if the new logging is to be spread on to the structure. Enter an
explanation in the Correction Remark field. In the Add On Value field and the Add On Value
Total field in the table of the dialog, enter 0 (zero).
Prerequisites
- If a missing logging is to be added, the logging date must be between the dates defined for the preceding and
succeeding logging.
- If a missing logging is to be added, the new accumulated value cannot be lower than the preceding
logging.
- It will not be possible to adjust a logging so the Add On Value, Value After Overhaul or the Value After
Repair becomes negative.
- It will not be possible to add a new logging having a more recent date than the last performed logging for
the serial. The Report operational Logging page should be used for this logging.
- It will not be possible to add a new logging or change an existing one in the operational log archive.
- It will not be possible to add a new logging or change an existing one for a serial that has been renamed at
a later date than the date of the new or changed logging.
System Effects
- When an operational logging is added or modified, all subsequent loggings in the serial operational log
history will be adjusted.
- If operational parameter values have been manually adjusted on active faults or already performed maintenance
events, the corrected values will automatically be adjusted when an operational logging is added or modified with
a logging date prior to the fault date or the performed date of the maintenance.
- If you have chosen to spread the correction to the structure, all loggings for the serials in the structure
will be adjusted as well.
- For the adjusted records in the serial operational log history, the Corrective Transaction option will
be enabled.
- For modified operational loggings, the correction value will be saved in the serial operational log
history.
- Records will be created in the part serial history to document the new or corrected operational logging for a
serial.
- The due calculations will be run automatically as a batch job when the new or changed logging has been
saved.
- Operational parameter values of performed maintenance events will automatically be updated. Refer the
Operational Log document for further details.
